    Edited August 5, by freakypalmguy. Cut off the dried up fronds at the end of winter. Cycad scale is a real pain and you see fewer sagos being used in new landscaping because of it. I am of the opinion that removing all of them would not harm the original plant.

    Is this going to harm the foundation? Trimming is a pain and I get an alergic reaction from it.

    1. This use will kill the plant[K]. Every year I had to cut them back and while doing so would silently wish that nature would take them from me so I wouldn't have to maintain them anymore.

    2. After the seeds are completely dry it is easier to knock them off for a clean look. Usually trimming last year's growth gets rid of a lot of the scale.
