I am guessing that there is no way to keep the sand from sucking through and up and out the power head. Or is a UGF with sand just too impractical to even try? You'd probably need an XP3 or 4. On with the question! My setup currently has small gravel over an undergravel filter.
I would like to switch to a fine black sand substrate. I use my canister (fluval ) and the current in the tank is great. Still need to vacuum. you could use an undergravel filter,but in a tank that large it's kinda rely on water flow through the substrate, and the water flow thro sand.
Do I have any options if I want to use an Undergravel Filter and Sand substrate as well?
