After interviewing the ladies in the fields, the group analyses its findings on conditions within the sugar belt and the situation for a play emerges. Their performances converse directly to the every day experiences of women — the least empowered staff, who labor lengthy hours for low wages with no benefits or rights to organize for better conditions. Using role-play and interviews with female cane workers, the collective develops dramatizations which analyze social points and pinpoint their issues. Profiles quite a lot of women energetic in independent-feminist movie and video, including manufacturing, distribution and schooling, whose work expresses a wide range of political and esthetic viewpoints.
