Sadly a lot of Savages photographic work was destroyed when a fireplace struck his studio in 1883. Sandison discovered about images in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 1899. He quickly moved to Glendale, California to apply images, then Honolulu, Hawaii, were he was employed as a photographer in a studio on Nuuanu Street.
