Eastman Kodak sued Apple and Research In Motion in January 2010, filing two lawsuits in opposition to Apple and a complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission towards both Apple and RIM after the businesses refused to pay royalties to be used of Kodak’s patents for digital cameras. Kodak alleged Apple’s and RIM’s phones infringed on patented Kodak digital imaging technology.
