Explores filmmaker Rithy Panh’s quest to create the missing photographs through the period when the Khmer Rouge dominated over Cambodia between 1975 and 1979. The film makes use of wooden figures, archival footage, and narration to recreate recount his firsthand experiences of his family and associates’ struggling in the course of the communist regime.
