Photo-Art Commercial Studios was positioned at 215 Sweetland Building, Portland, Oregon. Photo-Art studio continued to function until May 25, 2001 beneath the ownership of John Patterson. The studio remained well known until its closure because of the means it did not switch to digital photo processing but continued to make use of lab and traditional processing methods. He was identified for his exaggerated or “tall story” postcards.
